Megan Hardee is a Wilson native
that began her dance education at the age of three. She grew up
taking classes at The Massey School of Dance. She graduated from
Elon University in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Business
Marketing and a Minor in Dance. While at Elon, she took classes in
Tap, Jazz, Modern, Improvisation, and Dance History. She has been
the Director as well as an instructor at Megan’s Academy of Dance since
2006. She enjoys her career thoroughly and loves the “dance
family” that Megan’s Academy of Dance has created.

Lindsay
Haynie began her dance training at a local dance studio in Cary, NC.
She began dancing at the age of 3 and has taken everything from ballet,
jazz, and lyrical to modern, tap, and clogging. After graduating
from Cary High School in 2003, Lindsay attended UNC-Greensboro to pursue
a degree in modern dance. In 2004, she transfered to East Carolina
University. It was at ECU where she was able to really develop as
a dancer and choreographer. She took a variety of courses
including: Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Improvisation, Choreography, Creative
Dramatics, Theater Management, and Dance History. She has attended
the Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago and was selected to perform in
a piece by Roger Belman at the American Dance Festival in 2005. At
ECU, Lindsay performed in the annual Dance Theater, and Senior
Choreography shows each semester. Several of these pieces were
selected to compete at the American College Dance Festival and in 2006
two of these pieces were awarded a slot in the Final Gala Performance.
Lindsay graduated Magna Cum Laude from ECU in 2007 with a Bachelor of
Fine Arts in Dance Performance with a concentration in Jazz.
Amanda McCullum is a Wilson
native that began her dance career at the age of 7, taking lessons at
The Massey School of Dance. In 2007 she received a B.A. in Dance
concentration in Private Studio Teaching, from Meredith College in
Raleigh NC. While at Meredith Ms. Amanda was a member of the
Meredith Dance Theatre, an audition based performance group. As a
part of this group she was able to work with and perform works by artist
such as Valerie Midgett, Peter DiMuro, Bebe Miller, Katherine Ferrier,
Talani Torres, Joan Nicholas-Walker, and Carol Finley. Ms.
McCullum has performed at the American College Dance Festival in
Washington D.C., Columbus Ohio, and Richmond Virginia. Her senior
year she was voted by her peers to receive the Meredith Dance Theatre
Dedication award. She was also awarded the Metamorphosis award
from the dance faculty at Meredith. Ms. Amanda has performed
professionally in the North Carolina Dance Festival in works from Talani
Torres and Anna Milling Smith. Ms. Amanda is currently the Director of
Dance at Hunt High School here in Wilson, NC. She loves teaching
dance, and feels lucky that she gets to inspire art in her students each
day of her life!

Rebekah Shingleton began her dance studies as a child at Studio 86
Danceworks under Robb Beaman. She also studied at The Greenville Civic
Ballet under Kim Saad. She now continues her dance studies at
Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina where she has studies under
Carol Kyles Finly, Talani Torres, Cindy Hoban and Joan Nicholas-Walker.
At Meredith she is a member of their audition based modern company, The
Meredith Dance Theatre (MDT). Through MDT Rebekah had the privilege of
dancing at the American College Dance Festival in the spring of 2008.
Also in the fall of 2008 she had the opportunity to display her
choreography “Wills against Wants” in the adjudicated student showcase
at the North Carolina Dance Alliance. She thoroughly enjoys the company
and will be lost when she will have to leave the MDT family.
